If this needs moved to the recruiting forum I apologize but as usual I type in R rated format so I put it here..

Some things that jumped out at me from Tebow's journal in the local paper:

On the different styles of various HC's:
"All the coaches are different in their personalities and the way they recruit you. Some of them are pretty aggressive. Coach [Pete] Carroll is that way -- he's mostly about football and talks about how much better it can make you to come in and compete with all the players they have there now. Coach [Urban] Meyer is pretty aggressive also. Then there others who are laid back and talk more about the school and the life there, and about how you're doing personally. Coach [Mike] Shula is more that way."

An idea of the hill Iowa must always climb the next time you hear them talk of becoming a perrnial Top 10 team:

"We've been to FSU a lot, and we like the coaches, but we didn't think the offense there was the right fit for me. They have great players there and all the talent you could want to play with, but in the end I wasn't as comfortable there as other places. We haven't told Iowa [they are eliminated] yet. We told them a few weeks back that them or Michigan would get my last visit, and that they would have to outrecruit Michigan to stay in it."

On his scUM official visit, which was the only one that was a one day affair. All others went from a Saturday through Monday. As long as IVoyd is in charge up in AA, all is good for us:

"My official host was an offensive lineman everyone called 'Moose.' I didn't get his real name, but he was huge. It's starting to be a little bit of a grind. Not so much pressure from the coaches, but everywhere you go, people want to know where you are going to sign. You have to be nice to everyone, but sometimes you just want to put on a hat and maybe some sunglasses and try not to be noticed as much."

A description of his trip to USC and then his quotes:

Tebow flies to Los Angeles for the Southern Cal-UCLA game and his official visit to the Trojans this week. Upon landing, he is met at the terminal by a Southern Cal representative who takes him to the Rose Bowl in a sports utility vehicle. He arrives only 90 minutes before kickoff. Saturday night, Tebow is treated to dinner at a Greek restaurant, complete with the traditional plate destruction and singing. He does not sleep Sunday night, as his visit lasts well into the night and his flight departs at 1 a.m. PST. He practices with Nease on Monday with no sleep since Saturday night. In the coming week, Tebow will receive several head coaches for in-home visits.

"Coach Carroll spent a lot of time with me, talking about the history and tradition at Southern Cal. He's a fast talker. They had a big lead on UCLA and were still using a lot of starters and went for it on fourth down a couple of times. I thought the UCLA side would be mad about it, but they didn't seem to be."

Reading between the lines and keeping in mind what a class act this kid is, it's pretty clear Petey left a bad taste in his mouth. I'll leave the speculation as to why for others.

Also pretty clear from the scUM visit info that IVoyd is a fucking moron, but we all knew that already. If its me I'm making sure one of the best QB prospects in the country gets hosted by a QB or WR, actually learns his name and gets an earful of scUM QB/NFL QB tradition. He might even get a phone call from some dude named Brady. Carr sticks him with some dumb fuck OL for a few hours and lets him go. Brilliant.

Not sure if anyone saw the show on Tebow on ESPN a couple nites ago, but he seems like a really great kid. He looked like he handled the process really well and was a really tough kid.

I thought it was kind of interesting tho when his dad was reading the letters that the recruiters were sending him. They were blowing so much smoke that it was almost ridiculous at times.

My favorite was the QB coach from scUM telling him he was going to be the second coming of Steve Young.

To me I liked the pitch that Urban Meyer through out to him when he said Tebow to Hornsby, how does that sound.

He probably realized through his own research that their tradition of losing 3 games a year wasn't something he wanted to be a part of.
