Opens this evening and also has performances on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. If you have some free time this weekend and would like to support the Ohio State Opera Department, this should be worth the price of admission....
And now....back to your regularly scheduled Friday mayhem....:)
EDIT - as long as I'm being brazen about it, might as well get my money's worth.
If you have kids and can't go take the little monkeys to the opera, but still have the free time, the Children's Hospital Pleasure Guild is staging a performance of The Wizard of Oz at the Palace Theatre this wekeend with the proceeds benefiting Columbus Children's Hospital and its hospice program.
Shows are tonight, tomorrow afternoon and evening, and again Sunday afternoon.
Again, back to the insanity. :)
OSU's new opera director Peter Kozma is thrilled to be staging his first major opera production on campus this quarter?a modernized version of The Elixer of Love (L'elisir d'amore). This eternal love story will be presented on the Mershon Auditorium stage March 9, 10 and 11.

Pleasure Guild, an organization of 80 women commited to raising funds for Columbus Children's Hospital, traces its roots to the hospital's beginning. In 1890, a group of boys and girls decided to make sell small crafts to raise money so they could purchase "pleasures" for children in the hospital. In 1908, a group of women formalized the children's fundraising efforts and became Pleasure Guild of Children's Hospital.
Pleasure Guild has raised over $2.5 million for the children of Columbus Children's Hospital, and in recent years, its Hospice Program. Members commit to a three-year term and participate in a variety of fundraising and service projects.
