Coach Hayes said that McCall remains calm under pressure and already has major college offers from South Carolina, Clemson, LSU, North Carolina, Tennessee, East Carolina, and Ohio State with many others on the verge of offering. ?What people have to understand is that he worked behind a very talented and seasoned offensive line last season that gave him time to pick out receivers and he had the time to make plays,? said Coach Hayes. ?He was able to stand back there with a fair amount of time to throw. This season he might be more challenged as we develop a lot of new faces in the offensive line.
?He has all the tools to be a great one. He can run and throw and he understands the concept of what we are doing offensively. He has a big future ahead of him. I project him to be a five star player before he graduates and to my knowledge the only other five star quarterback was Willy Korn of Byrnes.
McCall completed 70 per cent of his passes on 75 of 107 for 1,126 yards and 12 touchdown passes after becoming the starter midway through the season.

Dillon junior QB Avery McCall (6-2 195) will be one of the hot signal-callers in the state the next two seasons. He's coming off an injury plagued sophomore season in which he led the Wildcats to the 2A state championship. McCall already has several offers but is not rushing the process. “Right now he's just concentrating on us, trying to get better,” Dillon coach Jackie Hayes said. McCall has offers from USC, Clemson, Tennessee, East Carolina, North Carolina, LSU, Ohio State and NC State. Florida State has shown strong interest this summer and wants him to come down for a camp but McCall has not expressed strong enough interest to warrant a trip Hayes said. USC has been reported as a favorite but Hayes said he can't confirm that. “He hasn't said that to me. I do know he likes them a lot but he's not gone in there and said that's where I'm going to school yet.”
