We are coming to a time in the season where I believe that there should be less and less of the Bad and Ugly and way more of the Good, but we seem to have plenty of everything! We have a very diverse group of writers that has a pretty good pulse on how Buckeye Nation feels about current events. Lets get rolling with the very, very, very good in my opinion.

Rumblin’

The chills that run down my spine every time I hear the crowd scream "Zeeeeekkkkkeeee"

I honestly could write about Ezekiel Elliott every week. Period, and there’s really no discussing why. What he does at the RB position is short of perfect, but not by much.

I have spent a great deal of time watching games over and over just to watch him without the football. So, let’s talk about why he is the obvious choice for the Heisman trophy. First, he is perfect in pass protection opportunities and there’s no other RB in America that can say that. He takes as much pride in his blocking abilities as he does running the football.

Second, there is no other running back that has his streak of 100 yard games. The closest, Leonard Fournette, that was a font-runner as well, lost his streak two weeks ago against Bama. Granted, there have been a couple times that he had to get his yards in mop-up time but what running back with that type of streak hasn’t? If it continues through the B1G title game he could be the only running back to have 18 straight games with at least 100 yards in the past twenty years.

I am fairly certain Archie won his second Heisman solely based on the fact he was putting together the longest streak of 100 yard games ever. There were other reasons he won the second one, but that streak played a huge role in it. Lastly, Ezekiel Elliott is the best player in the country and every team so far has done their dang best to stop his streak with no luck!

Let’s see what the staff has to say about the Rumblin’

Ken – Ohio State’s defense. While the offense sputtered at times on Saturday, the defense consistently played very effectively.
Michael – Zeke Elliot. Just love watching that kid play football
Joe – The rush defense this season has been beyond unbelievable for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Back-to-back weekends of giving up 40 or less rushing yards. The Silver Bullets had more tackles for loss on Saturday than Illinois had third down conversions. The numbers are just staggering.
JC – The Buckeyes Football Team – even with their flaws they are Defending National Champions & are undefeated. They get it done.
Brandon – The Silver Bullets. The defense is really stepping up and rounding into form. Bosa continues to dominate up-front and Bell is simply one of the best safeties we have seen come through here in awhile.
MDotySr – The Ohio State Buckeyes!! Still undefeated and riding a 30 game conference winning streak, Oh and reigning National Champs!

Stumblin’

This offensive gameplan is more vanilla than grandpa's nightly ice cream #YouCantBeatBasic #NoNeedForSprinkles

By definition, the stumblin’ has mostly meant someone that wasn’t necessarily really bad but came pretty close to being down right ugly. I have bitten my tongue more times than I like this season about the play calling. This past Saturday we saw a prime example of those issues and the QB of everybody’s choice started the game.

We saw Tom Herman learn from his mistakes in their first go around with MSU, and I hope that issue doesn’t rear it’s ugly head. The staff has to take better opportunities to clear things out and give J.T. a fighting chance early on. He has the best read-option style of anybody I have ever seen. The staff took him out of his comfort zone early and then really had to get on the Ezekiel-horse to fix things.

I don’t know the first thing about calling a college offense, but I can tell you I have seen enough success of the passing game based on J.T.’s fakes to know it can be scary to opposing defenses. Hopefully this weekend the Buckeyes will not hold anything back and take it to the Spartans.

Let’s see what the staff has to say about the Stumblin’

Ken – I agree with MDotySr, below. The offense seems to work more efficiently when they go uptempo. Also, redzone playcalling on their 1st series;, 1st & goal @ 3 yard line; no Zeke -> no points.
Michael – Pass protection. Seemed like Barrett was running for his life all game
Joe – Hey college football and your stupid under review rules, you are Stumblin’.

I sometimes feel that the college football rulebook is so far behind the times that it makes officials look like cavemen trying to figure out how to operate a microwave.

If we are going to have these review policies, let’s add a common sense clause to the review rules. You don’t need a TSA scanner to prove that J.T. Barrett had the football tucked into his shoulder when he dove into the endzone.

Where else could it have gone? Did he swallow it, digest it and spit it back out the back end in less than 30 seconds?

Sometimes I feel like the replay system is so archaic that it’s pointless. Do we really need to spend 30 minutes to debate whether or not J.T. Barrett hired Houdini to pull off the hidden ball trick?

If the NCAA could get their head out from underneath the hood, they’d realize it’d be better for the game if there was some subjectivity involved.

JC – Warinner & Beck – these two must be held accountable for the offensive ills – period. NOT Cardale!
Brandon – Tyvis Powell. I feel like I have been way too hard on Powell lately but I really wonder if he is playing with an injury no one knows about just like last year. He seems to be one or two steps too slow to each tackle, support play, or interception. I’m really concerned the Spartans will try to pick on him deep.
MDotySr – Offensive production/tempo/playing calling STILL!! Need to go get this figured out, as a fan, color me confused.

Bumblin’

I have to be honest here. After reading Joe below, I decided to give him the mic and let him drop it and walk away . . , I could not have said it any better. You can also click the linky dink inside the twitter window and it will take you to Joe’s show today.

OSU's win over Illinois wasn't dominant? @aclaircrawford and I disagree on today's Script Ohio @BuckeyesRadio https://t.co/6VTkKtcz94

— Joe Dexter (@BuckeyeRadio) November 16, 2015

Joe – This one goes out to all the fans out there that don’t think a 28-3 win over Illinois isn’t an impressive one.

First, do me a favor — take off the headset, rip off the polo and sit down in the La-Z-Boy. I have some words for you.

Woody Hayes would be ashamed of you right now. How could you possibly Think that dominating on the ground and SHUTTING down rushing attacks on back to back weeks isn’t impressive enough for you to believe in your team at the end of the season?

Jim Tressel is shaking his head as you say that Ohio State needs to blow out teams to make a statement.

Hey bruh — last time I checked, The B1G isn’t a Big 12 sideshow where defense is more likely to be found on the hardwood than it is on the gridiron.

With the gameplan that Ohio State chose to implement against Illinois, we saw total domination. Ohio State ran the ball 50 times and every back averaged well over four yards a carry.

Ezekiel Elliott masterfully melted the Illinois defense into non-existence in the 3rd adn fourth quarter.

Ohio State’s domination was NEVER in question, and they successfully left Memorial Stadium with a one-sided performance to brag about. And a game tape that has Mark Dantonio trying to guess where the wrinkles will come from this week.

Okay — you’ve got your polo ripped off. The headset is plugged into an outlet and charging. You’re relaxed in the recliner that sucks up your definition better than crime scene chalk.

It’s now time to enjoy some vanilla ice cream, my friend.

Sometimes not everything in life has to be complicated with bells, whistles and an instruction guide in 1500 different languages.

Let’s see what the staff has to say about the Bumblin’

Ken – The Ohio State and Illinois field goal units. I realize there are a lot of “moving parts” with the snapper, holder and kicker, but those units are not confidence-building.
Michael – OHSAA. For not having separate tournaments for City and Private/Catholic schools in sports

JC – Warinner & Beck – again & again & again. This is Buckeyes Football guy’s – Defending National Champions – undefeated. BIG TIME! Play to Cardale’s strengths when he is in the game. Play to JT’s strength’s when he is in. Don’t be afraid to try something new …. pass more …. Use Braxton for cryin’ out loud. Again this is Buckeyes Football fellas!
Brandon – The Pac-12. The conference came into yesterday with two top ten teams and another in the top 20. They all lost to unranked opponents which for all intents and purposes removes them from the Playoff discussion barring craziness at the top.
MDotySr – The Buckeye vertical passing game. Boy, do the Bucks miss Devin Smith. Whether it’s the pass blocking or holding the ball too long, it needs fixed or it will cost the Buckeyes a game.
