If TOSU wins today and god for bid would lose next week, why would Michigan get the Rose Bowl bid considering they went last year and we will still have the better overall record?

My apologies to the OP since no one has addressed your original question.

Games played in July don't count towards the conference championship and would thus not improve our standing.

On the other hand Michigan would go to the Rose Bowl because that is Harbaugh's next scheduled Field trip
