QB Quinn Ewers (transfer to Texas)

He can eff himself. He'll feel really good about his decision when our defense bends him in half. I have nothing bad but bad blood for this kid...don't want to see him get hurt but I do want the defense to require a week-long ice bath for Ewers.
Ewers was just a baby who made a big boy decision to come to OSU early, and it turned out to be a bad decision for him.

OSU maybe could have handled the situation better.

I am much more sympathetic to Ewers than McCord, who handled his time at OSU and away from OSU very poorly.

Ewers is ok with me, unless he is playing against OSU.

He was a teenager.

Get a grip.
The tone was too strong but pardon me for not forgetting that the kid came here to grab the bag away that could have gone to other players, only to immediately leave to the program the he was always planning on transferring to. He made zero contributions to the program and actually hurt the program, we ended up with McCord in a year where Ewers probably means another national championship trophy at the WHAC.

So I won't throw him a homecoming parade or knit him a quilt for feigning to make amends with the players and staff.

We were going to have McCord that year either way. Ewers had nothing to do with that. He didn't hurt us in any way.
He took a million dollars to do nothing for the program and leave. I consider that hurting the program. We moved on and did fine at the position, I'm just not going to pretend to like the kid after that. Go after him aggressively like we have been every QB and I don't want him to get injured or anything, but lets not have the media put a shiny bow on this matchup. We're not pals with this guy, he is the opponent and I think some extra motivation remembering what he did here wouldn't hurt.

Was it your million dollars? Then who cares?

It was a million dollars that could have been allocated to players that actually give a shit about being a Buckeye and planned on staying. Not like what Ewers did keeps me up at night and I am perfectly happy with Howard at QB now that it has played out, but I'm not going to pretend like Ewers didn't fleece us and run the second he had the chance.

You would have done the same thing as would 99.99% of families/ players.

As far as I know, Quinn has never bad-mouthed the coaches or his experience except for lack of playing time.

It is not worth raising your blood pressure over.

No, I would've understood that as a HS senior, I won't start and give it more than one year at least to compete. Saying yes to the money, hell yes I'd do it. Just not under false pretenses.

My blood pressure is terrible already but this doesn't move the meter for me haha. I know my post came across as spite or scorn, but I'm thrilled with Howard as our QB1 and Sayin is up next. But I'm also not going to paint Ewers in some rosy light, he got paid and defected immediately. If he were Devin Brown or Air Noland, I would see it differently since the writing on the wall for Sayin was there.

All this to say I'm glad he gets to face his former team. He'll be pulling turf or pellets out of his face mask all night. After that happens, we can do a sharing stick or koombaya moment.
