QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips)

Best post on this thread!!!!

quote=Steve19;1817278;]We can debate whether Herbie is a "real" Buckeye due to his life on both sides of that fence or whether a certain young man's behavior was over the line last night and perhaps unsettling the tempo of Ohio State's offense.

But, damn it, let's not do it during the week of The Game.

GO BUCKEYES! BEAT MICHIGAN!

IIRC, the Herbie recruiting comment came during a stretch of some of the worst offensive performances I have ever seen. It was 2+ years of horrid play. If you forget how bad it was, go back and look at the stats and watch some game film, if you can stomach it that is...

Herbie is a buckeye through and through, and anyone that doesn't see that is blind.

Yea, but on national television? You don't hear Brian Griese saying defensive recruits should never come to Michigan on a broadcast, and they're historically bad.

For one, no one is truly defending that particular comment. Should he have said it, at least as bluntly as he did? No - I do think it would have served him better to state it in a better manner, however, the man is still clearly a Buckeye at heart.

Only Buckeye fans and trolls from the SEC even remember that comment. Time to let it die folks.

And I think it is only fair to point out that no one in their right mind is looking to Brian Greise for any type of the in-depth analysis that Herbie brings to the table.

Folks, Herbstreit on ESPN is an act. End of story. It's an act when he trashes the Bucks. It's an act when his kids come on the set in Buckeye gear. Because if ESPN said no to either one, they wouldn't happen. ENd of story. The bottom line is we really don't kn ow what his real opinions are...which is why I don't give a fuck. Either way.

Well, Kirk's job is to express his opinion and Terrelle's job is to be a college student-athlete. Seems like both are acting exactly like who they are right now. In today's world, Twitter, Facebook and other social media's are common to express one's opinion and views on the world. Terrelle is entitled to his opinion as much as Herbie is allowed to separate his personal ones from his professional.

The fact is that Pryor will be criticized and complimented after everything he says and does; its not fair, but it is the life that he leads after being so heavily publicized from high-school and into college. If he wants to put those opinions online (just like we are all doing now), its a risk that everyone else will read it. But the fact is: if anyone of us had a school/job that merited having other people be paid to watch what we say or do all the time (aka sports/entertainment journalists watching/criticizing/writing about Pryor) we'd all be heavily lampooned for what we've said online.

I won't fault Herbie for what he is paid to do, and I won't fault Pryor for acting like a college student. Carry on please, I love it when we beat Iowa in Iowa City. Fuck Michigan.

Oh, and Herbstreit can fuck...Michigan. And TP can fuck...Michigan. And those of you who love Herbie can fuck...Michigan. And those of you who hate Herbie can fuck...Michigan. And if you don't like it then fuck...Michigan. And while I'm at it, I will tell myself fuck...Michigan.

Sometimes I wonder it you KH haters have ever held down a job and had an employer who had expectations of you.
He does his job well, he is a loyal Buckeye and obviously a lot smarter than you all.

This.

I heard Spiels giving praise to Mike Martin while broadcasting the Michigan game...maybe we could revoke his alumni membership?

Does Herbie sometimes go a little too far out of his way to show he is not a homer? Sure. But if he did act like a homer, he would not be calling games with Musberger. Same reason Herbie does not make a pick for the game he is calling.

didn't this same joker come on 97.1 the fan, in Columbus, with Bruce Hooley and categorically state that Pryor was going to be the next Maurice Clarett because of his lack of maturity?

Do you think a comment like that is quickly forgotten?
