You are right...it has. The past month has also provided us with more info with which we can make better projections. We will also see within the next few weeks what effect social distancing has had on the spread of the virus.

Would they really cancel millions of dollars worth of revenue? I think they play those games in that time period.

I agree with Taosman here, it's all about the money. The NCAA and conferences need the OOC games to fulfill their TV contracts and the "patsy" non conference opponents need the games to finance their athletic programs, etc. I could see moving the schedule back a couple weeks (or so) or just moving the 1st couple games to the bye week(s) and/or early December, etc. before I can see cancelling them.

Our game at Oregon is in between the games with BGSU and Buffalo...that game is hardly a "patsy" game.

Monday night football had become unwatchable with Booger in the booth, if this move were made, I'm not sure how to even categorize it.
Could ESPN’s top college football broadcast pair of Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit do double duty on “Monday Night Football” this upcoming season?

Not likely, but don’t rule it out.

The scoop comes from The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, who reports the network has put the idea back on the table, but remains “wary of creating a problem with its national championship duo.”

Herbstreit reflected on his sons’ first season. They redshirted as Clemson went 14-1. The Tigers defeated Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl national semifinal game before falling to LSU in the national championship game.

“They had a chance to participate and travel out and be a part of a surreal moment for them with that semifinal game against Ohio State, a team they grew up their whole life worshipping,” Herbstreit said. “Even to this day, they love the Buckeyes. Even though they weren’t playing, it was still surreal for them to look to the other side and see those uniforms. Of course, that was a controversial game the way it ended.

“They were able to dress for the national championship game and even though they came up short against LSU it was pretty neat for them in their first year to get these two rings that are massive.

“They missed spring ball as a team. Everything up to this point has been voluntary. College football is just trying to figure things out. It’s a ready, fire, aim situation. The rules of engagement seem to be changing daily and even hourly.

“The boys feel really good about how they fit in. Dabo (Swinney) called me and we were talking about a lot of things. I really stay out of everything unless he brings something up. At the end of the call, he said, ‘I just want you to know that everybody is really fond of your boys for the way they are trying to make a name for themselves. They never talk about who they are. They just want to work and earn their own way.’

“Knowing them, that is what I would expect from them. But to hear Dabo see that and feel that … he has two boys of his own who are trying to do the same on the team.”

In the discussion, Herbstreit revealed his third son, Zak, will be a senior this fall at Montgomery Bell Academy. Zak Herbstreit is listed as a 6-3, 225-pound tight end and, according to his dad, is looking into attending Ohio State.
