I am not even 100% positive how you would weave that into a NIL deal. I mean I guess any terms can be created. But if I was him I would want that backed by something other than a collective. Which can be dissolved.
I think it was Steve Young who negotiated his contract in the USFL so that it was backed by a bank or some type of insurance policy so he still got paid after they went BK.

Well in my Hypothetical that 50 million only gets dispursed if the player gets injured and it's a career ender. Plus 50 mil over 20 years? Would be doable for a program like Ohio State. Also the Hypothetical wouldn't exactly be given to anyone. It'd be more for a kid like CJ who's clearly a top talent but can't come back because of the fear of injury. I think something like this gets around that.

Any rate, just talking shit.

So if he is sincerely rethinking whether to go pro or not, you’d have to point to his play in the CFP and seeing his game go up another level. The only thing that’d make sense to me, is if Stroud feels like he’s going to end up in a shitty franchise and he’d rather collect some NIL $$$ and continue his development under Day.

My guess is Stroud’s agent is furiously trying to get as much information possible so they know what the most likely scenarios are and then he can make a decision. Nothing else really makes sense to me anyways……

Staying would be a wise move if it enables him to avoid being a Bear, for instance, if the Bears were planning to trade Fields.
