Maybe times have changed and the "History of Math" course has really been beefed up, but the Mech Eng courses I took were hardly GPA boosters. :nerd:

ME courses are not GPA boosters, but engineering students are team GPA boosters. The College of Engineering at The Ohio State University requires a 3.0 GPA IIRC.

Yep. True.

When I was there (a long time ago) you needed at least a 3.0 to even be able to apply to have a shot at getting into a major after you'd finishing up the basic requirements (sciences, humanities, etc.).

I think I had a 3.2 or 3.3 or something and just barely got into Mech Eng. That wasn't good enough to get me into my first choice which was Aerospace Eng.

By the time it was all said and done, I *successfully* graduated with a BSME and barely a 2.8. I won't do the math on what it takes to drop from a 3.2 down to a 2.8, but it was an ugly couple of years.

And... to put things into perspective... I did well enough (relatively) to get a fellowship to stay on in the department for my master's! :yow2:
