BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana University student told police officers that he was handcuffed and put into a car by two people who claimed they were officers, including one he described as a teenage girl.
The 21 year old student said he was standing at an intersection on campus early Tuesday when a man and the girl, both wearing dark uniforms, pulled up in a small white car.
“The female asked from inside the car if (the man) had been drinking,” IU police Detective Greg McClure said. “When he said he had been, they got out and told him he was under arrest.”
The student said the girl handcuffed him and put him in the car, McClure said.
The pair was driving a white car, possibly a hatchback, with the word “police” written on the side, McClure said.
After driving around for what McClure said was likely about 20 minutes, they dropped off the student near his dormitory. He was not hurt.
