OSU Swimming Facilities

Legend
With me starting swimming this year I'm very interested in ofcourse...swimming. Next week our swim team has the opportunity to watch OSU in a swim meet...at the new pool. I did a little research on the new pool, and it is great looking. Has to be top in the country. I found this article(which I know is old) on the pool. Its a 3 part article which also includes pictures of the pools and such.

The pool is huge. 50 meters by 25 meters. 10 lanes across in a traditional set up. It has a moveable deck that can be moved to the middle to allow for races on both sides(20 lanes, 10 on each side of deck). Also since it is 25 meters wide they can move the deck to the end and have 22 lanes in a row going across.

The gutters on the sides are 2 1/2 feet deep. Its designed like that to dispearse(sp?) any waves so they don't bounce out of the gutter and re-enter the pool.

I can't wait to see it in person. I would love to swim there.

Did a search on "McCorkle Aquatic" and found some pictures on ohiostatebuckeyes.com

They have many photos from the construction process, but only 4 pics of the "finished" product...

Here is the link to the info on the place. It also has links to the current photos(which I just posted) and the construction phase photos.
