If you want tOSU in a BCS bowl, you've been rooting for Oregon State to lose for weeks.

If you're happy with USC not winning the Pac-10's automatic bid, and you can live with a Penn State-Oregon State rematch in the Rose Bowl, you're a fan of the Beaver. OK, when it's put that way, that's almost all of us.

All of Oregon State's battling Rodgerssssses were hurt in the Arizona game...not sure of their status for this week, but for v-cash and our BCS bid, if they can't go it really helps Oregon.

Oregon State's 'Quizz Rogers doubtful for Civil War - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Standings, Stats

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State coach Mike Riley says running back Jacquizz Rodgers is very doubtful for Saturday's Civil War game against Oregon.

Rodgers, who leads the Pac-10 Conference in rushing, injured his shoulder on Oregon State's second possession last Saturday against Arizona.

Riley says Rodgers has a second-degree sprain of his left shoulder.

No. 17 Oregon State (8-3, 7-1) plays No. 19 Oregon Saturday in the annual rivalry game between the two teams. If the Beavers win, they will play in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

The Beavers will celebrate a trip to the Rose Bowl with a win over the Ducks.

Home team has won 10 of the past 11, so it's advantage Beavers. But the Ducks have had two weeks to prepare and are coming off a career-best game by quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. And Oregon State has key injury issues to deal with at QB and RB.

ESPN has been picking Boise State over Ohio State for the last at-large bid, if Oregon States lose tonight.

I am actually not confident that Ohio State will get it in the end. I think there's too many biased people that thinks Ohio State just sucks in big games, unfortunately.

One thing that we can hold against anyone is that Ohio State in 2006 played in 3 games that features #1 vs #2. They went 2-1 so that is respectable at least.

Go Bucks!

Only USC has won more BCS bowls than Ohio State, and the bowl committees know it. They also know we'll fill the hotels, restaurants, and stands.

ESPN doesn't know anything more than the average 14 year old kid on the internet - "Ohio State sucks!" :roll1:

The BCS committee also know the damned BCS rules - which explicitly bless the top-ranked team from a non-BCS conference. Not the two top-ranked teams from non-BCS conferences.
(Emphasis directed at ESPN there).
Meanwhile the two top ranked teams from a BCS conference can, explicitly get to a BCS Bowl game if they meet the ranking criteria. Which in Ohio State's case they do.
This is an open and shut case, and for once, last night, Mark May had it right - but he didn't name the correct reason(s).

Oh, yes, and we put spectators in seats - in Stadium and at home.
