Old flags, what to do with them?

I know they have ceremonies where they burn old flags and I know they are never to be thrown in the garbage but what should I do with the tattered, weathered flag that I have replaced?

Most places don't put barrels out for them until June.

fold it and put it in the closet until then. or call the local VFW - im sure they will have more info

Try calling or dropping it off at a local VFW.

The VFW collects them, and then burns them in accordance w/ military procedure.

Take it to the statehouse building and burn it on the lawn. Maybe stomp on it a couple of times, too.

Just roll it up into a ball, shove it to the bottom of a trash bag and throw it out with the rest of your garbage....then tell us that you gave it to the VFW for proper disposal.

Would this be an American flag you need to dispose, or something else? 'Cause if it's one of those rainbow flags, you probably don't want to take that to the local VFW.

Why are you asking us Thump? Just do the usual........you know, uncork a bottle of the good stuff, get a fire going, and pop in a tape of "Gladiator".
