Ol' Crimson at Gameday tomorrow

methomps

an imbecility, a stupidity without name
I know you guys will only be concerned about scarlet, grey, and orange tomorrow, but I'm sure many of you are aware of the Washington State Cougar fans who fly Wazzu flags at each and every Gameday site.

If you don't, here is a brief synopsis: The cougs are mad that Gameday has never chosen (and likely will never choose) Pullman as a site to host Gameday from. They've decided that if Gameday will not come to Pullman, they will come to Gameday. So, each and every week you see Wazzu flags flying in the crowd. They've created this entire manual about how to get in the best location to be seen by camera and generally how to work things. Every week they send the manual and the flags to volunteers who live near where Gameday will be.

Well, I've learned that they are going above and beyond this week. Instead of the traditional one or two flags, there will be fifteen coug's operating five flags in Columbus. Truthfully, I think they have so many volunteers this week because the alcohol will be flowing like no other tomorrow and everyone knows that the cougs are the biggest collection of drunkards in America.

My advice: Offer a case for each flag and fly the block O instead.

I think it is a great way for them to get on the Gameday broadcast. I've got another way to suggest to them....get yourselves a really good football team - that just might work too!
didn't they just have three consecutive ten win seasons? a feat that had not been accomplished in the Pac Ten since USC in the early '30s?

they might not have the tradition, but they have been improving lately...

besides, with such classy posters like TSKCoug, i just can't help but root for them a little...

Hey Methomps here is a Bronx cheer for you...

I love it that there is a group of devoted Cougar fanatics flying the Crimson and Gray. Why the hell not? Its great publicity. An while the WSU football program has been rather slim on tradition, Coug Alumni are very proud of their school and football team and what is the matter with that? If this season goes fairly well (Cougs are now 2-0 after beating Nevada 55-21 tonight), the WSU 2006 season opener stands a good chance of being the Game Day game (WSU will travel to play Auburn). I for one will be there in the midst of all those Tiger fans, and to hell with them all I'm going to cheer for the Cougs until I blow out my vocal cords, and I won't need any beer to do it!

Go Cougs, Now and Forever!!!
