COLUMBUS, Ohio- Ohio State dropped the first game of a two-game series against nationally-ranked Oklahoma State, 16-3, Tuesday in front of 848 fans at Bill Davis Stadium. The two teams conclude their midweek series Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
"We played a very good baseball team tonight," head coach Greg Beals said. "We got a lesson on what a Top 25 team is like. Tomorrow we need to come out with a little more fight. We need to play aggressively and our pitchers need to attack the bottom half of the strike zone."
The Cowboys, 32-15 and among the Top 25 teams in the nation in all four major polls including a No. 19 ranking by Baseball America, came into the game as the No. 2 hitting team in the Big Twelve Conference and they backed that ranking up by registering 20 hits against three Ohio State pitchers. Leading 3-0, the Cowboys scored three in the fourth and five in the fifth to build its advantage.

did I hear that correctly...we won last night 3-2!?!
    You indeed heard correctly.

    From the Official Site

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Ohio State received a tremendous start from pitcher John Kuchno, terrific relief work and three late-inning runs to come from behind and defeat Oklahoma State, 3-2, to gain a split of this midweek series Wednesday in front of 859 fans at Bill Davis Stadium. The win improved Ohio State's record to 22-22 while Oklahoma State falls to 32-16 on the season.
Kuchno, a second-year freshman in his first year at Ohio State after transferring from Wake Forest, pitched 5.0 innings and allowed just four hits and one run against the nation's 19th-ranked team, and a team that introduced itself to Bill Davis Stadium Tuesday with 20 hits and 16 runs. Kuchno walked just one and struck out three.
Trailing 2-0 in the seventh inning, the Buckeyes scored twice to tie the score and then scored the winning run in the eighth inning on a Ryan Cypret sacrifice fly.
"I feel good about being able to bounce back and compete," head coach Greg Beals said. "The story was getting five good innings out of Kuchno and the bullpen was great again. Offensively, we were able to step up and get a couple big hits in big-time situations."
Chad Johnson's fifth RBI of this series - a double in the first inning - gave the Cowboys a quick 1-0 lead. A great play in shallow right center field by Ryan Cypret - a back-to-home-plate-over-the-shoulder catch of a Davis Duren blooper - got the Buckeyes out of the inning.

Yes sir. Got a series with Ga Tech next year, too. Also, Louisville is back on the schedule along with Costal Carolina.

With 11 teams competing in the B1G next year, we will have an open weekend during league play, and i think the Ga Tech series will happen in that opening.
