Ohio State standout running back Ezekiel Elliott was named the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Year Tuesday afternoon on the Big Ten Network.

Elliott is the sixth Buckeye to receive the award. Eddie George first received it back in 1995, and was followed by Orlando Pace in 1996. Joe Germaine shared the award with Drew Brees in 1998, and Troy Smith won it in 2006. Elliott's teammate Braxton Miller won the award in both 2012 and 2013.

Elliott was a preseason Heisman favorite, and put up great numbers for the Ohio State offense this season. He had 1,672 rushing yards on the season on 262 carries, good for 6.4 yards per attempt.
