The 6'4 defensive lineman's career is cut short.

Ohio State defensive lineman Donovan Munger's football career is over, due to pulmonary embolism. Urban Meyer told a crowd of gathered reporters who relayed the news afterwards. The 6'4 defensive lineman was diagnosed with a blood clot before the 2013 season, and has just not been able to shake the illness, bringing his career to an unfortunate, early ending.

Munger was a four-star prospect coming out of high school, and committed to the Buckeyes back on Dec. 9, 2012. He appeared in 11 games for the Buckeyes in their 2014 national championship season, accumulating five tackles and one tackle-for-loss, while seeing his most action early in the season against Kent State and Illinois.

The recent setback with a pulmonary embolism kept him from reaching his full potential, after once showing much promise in Columbus. The loss of Munger puts the Buckeyes at 86 scholarship players, meaning they're one over the 85 limit required at the start of fall camp.

We wish the best moving forward for the Shaker Heights native, in health and in future endeavors.
