The #6 Women’s Volleyball Team just left the treacherous and incongruous world up north that houses TTUN with a four-set victory. The Buckeyes: 3 TTUN: 1
Our Buckeyes were ignited with the superiority of 4 players stockpiling double digit kills. Elizabeth Campbell led the way with 17. Luisa Schirmer had 16. Audra Appold added 13 – as well as Taylor Sandbothe. Emily Ruetter had a double-double – leading all players on both sides with 54 assists along with 15 digs. Appold delivered a double-double of her own as well – 14 digs to complement her 15 kills. Tyler Richardson would shine with 8 blocks.
The Buckeyes never fell behind. They maintained a slim edge throughout with a 25-23 winning tally. Schirmer’s seven kills in the opening set doubled any individual efforts from any player on TTUN.
Our Lady Buckeyes dominated all numbers – apart from the most imperative – the score. Individual tallies would indicate a larger separation in the Buckeyes victory from that of TTUN’s. But … it would not show in the score itself.
The bottom line … Our Buckeyes Women stepped up to 19-3. They clearly rebounded from their defeat against *ichigan State on 10/21/15. Prior to this loss they endured a defeat on 09/23/15. So nearly one month and seven wins later this dominant team must have been caught flat-footed against the Spartans. Could this be any indications of anything? Let’s hope so! Let’s sit and watch another nice run.
The Ohio State University’s Women’s Volleyball Team returns home @ St. John’s against Penn State and their Women’s Nittany Lions on Wednesday (Oct., 28th). It is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. And guess what? It is on ESPNU.
The 19-3 Buckeyes – #6 Nationally – are on a wondrous voyage. As Buckeye Nation it is absolutely our responsibility to step up and support these women. There is a noticeable and reliable jaunt in progress. Don’t miss it!
See you there. Go BUCKEYES.
