The Women’s Rugby Team this past weekend (Oct., 17th) against Purdue hammered home a well deserved victory – 34-20.

The week began with the usual practices and a focus on quality performances – though the mini break on campus nearly brought a realism into the realm. But these women are not easily diverted. They are Buckeyes – and are interested in winning – and doing so the Buckeye way, which is hard and dedicated work.

The Buckeyes would mesh together as a team, focused, without looking back. The scoring would go down as such: Brie Rahrig would score 3 tries. Tori Fantozzi dropped 1 across the goal. Cyndi Campbell (Capt.,) would have 1 … and let’s have a loud shout-out for Hannah Kleman who would score 1 try as well – her first!

There has been a long path for these ladies. The loss to Penn State was hardly appetizing, but any athlete worth their salt will be the first to tell you “…a lesson is a lesson is a lesson …” The key in a lesson is simply what has been learned.

The clear evidence of ‘a lesson learned’ is the difference in last week comparative to this week.

A special mention should be detailed for both Tori Fantozzi and Madi Kohr. Both of these ladies created such chaos for the Boilermakers in the variations in running lines, and off the ball, that brought prosperous results for the Buckeyes.

The Lady Buckeyes had a second wave of recognition due – Lauren Rohrs, Sharefa Duhaney, and Darby High distributed some wondrous – and let me say “sweet” – fend offs. Essentially these moves provided substance that ultimately provided a victory.

The execution of play was “spot-on”. Our Lady Buckeyes have had a “curious” season thus far. But any ignoring of their progression is a slip that is unlike Buckeye Nation.

Our Buckeye Ladies are real. They are determined. They are loyal. They are Buckeye ready. It’s time to understand that to jump on the bandwagon when victories are rampant will only expose you as a fraud.

This coming weekend (Oct., 24th) @ 3:00 p.m. look for a victory against the Hoosiers of Indiana at Bevelhymer Park. Come & witness what I say.

Once again Great job Ladies! & Hannah welcome to the club of tries. You will only get more … and more ….and more!
