Ohio State is in the middle of their bye week, but the staff has not seen a moment of rest as they keep the recruiting train going.

It's a much needed bye week for the Ohio State football team. With many of the Buckeye players being a bit banged up, the bye week couldn't have come at a better time as the staff and players look to make the last push toward the end of the season -- hopefully en route to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Big Ten Championship.

However, even though this is a bye week, the Ohio State football staff never sees rest. With Urban Meyer and company out on the recruiting trails all week, Ohio State is keeping it's full head of steam in pursuit of the nation's top prospects.

Official visit possible for Rashan Gary?

In a name that isn't new to anyone, Rashan Gary, the nation's top prospect regarded by nearly every recruiting service, recently updated us on his recruitment. In an article with Cleveland.com, Gary was asked whether or not Ohio State would be considered as one of his five official visits.

With Michigan already receiving one of the five, the Buckeyes have done everything in their power to pursue Gary. Even though Gary has visited OSU already this year, to come back for an official visit would speak volumes as to where Ohio State stands in the race for his services. The nation's top prospect had this to say in his interview with Cleveland.com regarding his visits: "Yes sir, I was talking to coach Johnson about it Monday night. It's in the making, but I don't know who is going to have an official visit."

We will see what time brings with Gary, but if coach Johnson and Urban Meyer have a say so, Rashan will continue to see the full-court press in his recruitment from the Buckeyes.

Hayward to vist OSU

Treshaun Hayward is most likely a new name for many recruiting followers. The Ann Arbor, Michigan prospect is a 2017 linebacker and plays his high school ball for Ann Arbor Skyline. A school that is known by Ohio State for prospects such as recent USC de-commit and Buckeye target, Daelin Hayes, Hayward is starting to see his recruitment take off. With a recent offer coming from Miami (OH), Treshaun has visits not only to Ohio State scheduled, but Pittsburgh, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, and Eastern Michigan in the coming weeks. The 6'1, 205-pound linebacker does not currently hold a recruiting ranking, but with these visits coming and his recent offer, look for Hayward's stock to rise and continue to see interest. With Ohio State's linebacker room likely to start thinning out due to its success and veteran leaders, Urban Meyer and Luke Fickell are in full pursuit of the nation's top linebackers to add depth in the coming seasons. As of right now, Hayward is also receiving interest from Minnesota, Central Michigan, Toledo, and Purdue.

Walker stays in the headlines

As usual, Ohio State commit Kareem Walker made his way into the headlines again. This time, it came by an ntertaining film interview with Scout.com. Walker, who has made recruiting headlines almost daily lately, has been a name that may have your heart drop when heard if you're an Ohio State follower. With the surrounding rumors of Walker de-committing from Ohio State and the drama that has surrounded his name lately, Walker continues to say all of the right things to make it seem that he will stick with his Buckeye pledge.

Whether that ends up being the case or not, Kareem is still a current Ohio State commit and this video with Scout.com is pretty cool nonetheless. Walker has official visits planned for Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arizona State all before his final official visit with Ohio State. That visit is shaping up to be huge as it could put an end to any confusion and solidify the nation's top running back commitment to Urban Meyer and Ohio State. Kareem is planning to enroll early to the school of his choice in January.
