Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets - OSU makes cut for Robert Beal, Jordan Fuller

The Buckeyes make the cut on a couple of recruits' top lists
Ohio State is 5-0 and still the top ranked team in the country, despite pulling out of some dangerously close games against what was thought to be less talented teams, including Northern Illinois and Indiana. Still, the Buckeyes still sit atop the polls and have the eyes of plenty of recruits in the country looking to make their decisions on where to play their college ball.
Although '17 athlete Bruce Judson decommitted, the Buckeyes still have quite the talented group for 2017. In fact, Ohio State made the cut of top 10 teams for another recruit from the class of '17. Weak-side defensive end Robert Beal is listed as 6'4, 210-pounds and is rated as a four-star under the 247Sports Composite. Beal also ranks as the third-best weak-side defensive end in the country and the ninth-best prospect at any position from the state of Florida. Beal released his list of favorite schools, and the Buckeyes were among the names listed:
In no order, the teams that made the cut include Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, LSU, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Florida State. In addition to those teams, some other top schools that sent out an offer to Beal include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, and North Carolina, among others. As it stands right now, it looks like Beal is a slight lean to Notre Dame, at least according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball.
Switching over to the class of 2016, '16 athlete/dual-threat quarterback Jordan Fuller released his top eight schools late Monday night and Ohio State found themselves on the list. That should come as no surprise, as the Buckeyes have been recruiting Fuller for some time now. While there's limited space left available in the '16 class, it's certainly possible that the coaching staff would be able to take on Fuller, provided he wants to end up as a Buckeye.
The 6'2, 190-pound Fuller is rated as a four-star under the 247Sports Composite and ranks as the nation's ninth-best athlete, in addition to being the fifth-best prospect at any position from the state of New Jersey. Fuller's top eight, in no order, includes Rutgers, UCLA, TCU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, and Virginia Tech. If Fuller were to commit to the Buckeyes, he would likely end up playing at defensive back for the silver and gray.
This particular recruiting battle has plenty of teams in the running, as evidenced by the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions:
