The Buckeyes make the cut for Trayvon Mullen and offered a Georgia commit.

It was a huge weekend for Ohio State both on and off the field against Penn State in Columbus, as the Buckeyes took it to the Nittany Lions from start to finish for a big 38-10 win. Not only was it a successful night for the football team, but potential future Buckeyes were on hand to see the action unfold as well.

One of those recruits was '16 cornerback and current Georgia commit Malek Young. The 5'10, 175-pound corner has been committed to Georgia since early April and although hasn't wavered in his commitment up to this point, it's certainly a possiblity as he received an offer from Ohio State this past weekend. Young made an official visit to Columbus over the weekend to watch the Buckeyes host Penn State in front of Ohio Stadium's second-largest crowd in its history. The offer came on Sunday when Young was wrapping up his visit.

It's not out of the realm of possiblity that the offer might have Young thinking. The cornerback is also making an unofficial visit to Auburn later this month and could eventually make a swap to another team after he finishes his visits. He's certainly allowed to take full advantage of checking out all of the potential options for him, but this is a recruitment to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.

Young is rated as a three-star in the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as nation's 41st-best cornerback and 71st best prospect from any position out of the state of Florida.

Monday night, '16 cornerback Trayvon Mullen released a list of the top 13 schools that he is still considering. The 6'1, 172-pound corner has also been clocked as running a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash. Mullen is rated as a four-star under the 247Sports Composite rankings and is ranked as the nation's 33rd best prospect in the country and third-best cornerback in the nation. He also ranks as the sixth-best prospect at any position from the state of Florida.

The teams to make the cut were Ole Miss, Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, TCU, Florida, Oklahoma, Florida State, USC, Auburn, Miami, Alabama, and Louisville. As Mullen mentions above, he will be selecting his official visits from that list and will look to get closer to wrapping up his recruitment.

As it stands right now, it appears LSU has the best chance to land Mullen with 52 percent of the 247Sports Crystal Ball vote. Florida State trails by a good margin, with 32 percent of the vote while Alabama and Clemson were mostly left out of this race with six and three percent of the vote, respectively.
