Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets - Kobi Simmons and Antwuan Jackson visit, Malik Barrow injured

It was a pretty busy weekend for the Buckeyes.
Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff didn't just have Hawaii on campus Saturday. They also played host to one of the top defensive linemen in the class of 2016.
Once again making the trip to Columbus from Georgia, four-star defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson had the chance to see the Buckeyes take the field, meet with the staff, and hang out with quite a few future Buckeyes, including Austin Mack.
With limited spots left in Ohio State's 2016 class, the 6'3, 285-pound Jackson is one of highest rated recruits on Meyer and the Buckeyes' wish list. OSU isn't the only school trying to add Antwuan to their roster. SEC programs such as Auburn and Georgia are going out of their way to keep the U.S. Army All-American out of the Scarlet and Gray.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is currently considered the ninth defensive tackle and 54th overall prospect in the class of 2016.
Simmons checks out OSU
The basketball Buckeyes had a pretty big recruiting weekend, too. After recently checking out Kentucky and UNLV, five-star class of 2016 combo guard Kobi Simmons officially visited Ohio State.
Rolling out the red carpet for the 6'5 Simmons, who was supposed to announce his college commitment soon after the trip, but will reportedly push those plans back now, the Buckeyes are hoping the visit was enough to put them in the driver's seat for his verbal pledge.
Looking to bring a guard into the fold, Simmons, the 18th overall prospect in the country, would join big men Derek Funderburk and Micah Potter in the Buckeyes' 2016 class.

Barrow out for season
Per reports, future Buckeye defensive lineman Malik Barrow's high school career is over. After coming up with a knee injury during the IMG Academy (FL) match up against DeSoto (TX), and fellow OSU pledge Tristen Wallace last week, Barrow will miss the remainder of the season.
Barrow, who recently skyrocketed up the ranking charts, will undergo surgery soon to repair the the undisclosed injury.
Even though he has yet to sign his financial aid agreement with OSU, Barrow plans to graduate early from IMG Academy and arrive on the Ohio State campus early next year. Pending any drawbacks from his injury, the four-star standout would be eligible to participate in spring drills with the Buckeyes.

- The Buckeyes offered class of 2017 running back D'Andre Swift on Friday. Swift, a five-star prospect from Philadelphia, adds Ohio State to an already impressive list of scholarship offers. Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Penn State, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, and Michigan State are just some of the programs reportedly after the 5'9, 205-pound junior.
- Two OSU commits checked out other programs over the weekend. Class of 2016 pledge George Hill made the trek to East Lansing to watch Michigan State take on Oregon, while class of 2017 commit Bruce Judson was in the Swamp to see Florida play East Carolina. Both Hill and Judson have been verbally committed to Ohio State for quite some time, but have flirted with other programs.
