Two big-time Buckeye recruits will be in town for this weekend's game. Does OSU have a shot at them?

With November starting to wind down and the Buckeyes heading down the home stretch of their schedule, things are starting to heat up on the recruiting trail, too. This should be a big weekend in Columbus, with Ohio State hosting several prospects and others gearing up to make their college decisions as the Buckeyes take on Michigan State.

Dorn announcing on Dec. 4

Class of 2016 athlete Myles Dorn will be announcing his college decision on December 4th. His finalists are North Carolina, North Carolina State, West Virginia, Clemson, and Ohio State. As Dorn hails from the Tar Heel State, both Carolina schools are thought to be the favorite heading into his commitment. At 6'2, Dorn is athletic enough to play either side of the ball at the next level, where he could line up at either safety or wide receiver. There's a chance that his frame would allow him to become an outside linebacker, too.

Chris Ash and Tony Alford have taken the lead in this recruitment and with limited spots left in this class, if Dorn did commit, it wouldn't be a stretch by any means. Dorn is a three-star prospect, but has an impressive offer list which includes 19 schools. Dorn is expected to be in Columbus this weekend so the good news is that the Buckeyes will have one of the last shots to catch his eye. This will be Dorn's first visit to Ohio State since picking up an offer from the Buckeyes in October.

Williams to visit this weekend

Jamyest Williams, an elite 2017 cornerback/wide receiver prospect, confirmed yesterday that he will be making the trip to Columbus for this weekend's Michigan State game. Ohio State has recruited the state of Georgia very well in the past and this is another race that the Buckeyes will try and become contenders in. Though just 5'9, Williams has elite speed with a recorded 40-yard dash time of 4.35 and has a vertical of 37 inches. Georgia is thought to be the favorite at this point, but Florida State, Clemson, and Michigan State have all hung around thus far. The Buckeyes will have a chance to climb into that group if all things go well.

Jamyest attends Archer High School, which is the same high school that current 2017 commit Isaiah Pryor attends, too. With Pryor being committed, and seemingly very solid to OSU, it allows for him to work on Williams over the next year or so. Williams has only trended upwards in 247Sports' prospect rankings and he currently sits as the number two rated athlete in his class.
