Ohio State offered Tennessee commit Marquill Osborne. Do the Buckeyes have a chance?

Starting things off, a new offer was sent out to 2016 cornerback Marquill Osborne. Osborne is a current Tennessee commit and holds 11 total offers. From the state of North Carolina, Osborne has been mostly recruited by SEC and ACC schools to date, but that trend could be coming to an end with this Ohio State offer.

At 5'10, Osborne is definitely has a more finesse style of play and it shows when he's on the field. He has a recorded 4.42 40 yard dash time and he's usually the fastest man on the field whenever he steps on it. Osborne also shines at wide receiver for his high school squad. Ohio State has been looking to add more defensive backs to this class and though they are still in good position for them, this offer definitely makes you wonder if things are starting to head south for other prospects. The Buckeyes have spent a ton of energy recruiting Damar Hamlin and Jordan Fuller over the last couple of years. Nonetheless, Osborne was able to turn enough heads during the early portion of his senior season to earn a coveted Ohio State offer. The staff definitely likes him and that's the most important thing. If legitimate interest is there, the Buckeyes will have to get him on campus sometime this fall. Osborne is a four-star prospect and the 17th-rated cornerback in the country.

OSU interested in Texas PG

To the hardwood, some of the Ohio State coaching staff was in to see 2017 point guard Jay Jay Chandler. Chandler, from the state of Texas, checks in at 6'3 and is the 47th overall rated player in his class. Though he hasn't given a commitment yet, or really set a date for a decision, Kentucky is expected to the favorite at this point. However, there's still a ton of time when it comes to 2017 basketball recruits. September has been a busy month for Chandler as it seems like there's a different college on his high school campus just about every day. He's rated his one of Texas' top prospects and he'll have a chance to prove that ranking very soon as we start to head into the fall and winter months. Like any recruit in any sport, this will fall under the category of "wait and see" until he wants to make things interesting and plan a trip to Columbus. Until then, Thad Matta will have his work cut of for him taking on the big boys of the college basketball world.
