The Buckeyes look to recruit a top 10 offensive guard to their 2018 class.
Bring the juice
An offer was sent out late Monday night to Frederick "Juice" Scruggs (Erie, PA /Cathedral Prep). Scruggs, a 2018 prospect, is currently rated as a top 200 player in his class and the No. 9 offensive guard. From Pennsylvania, Scruggs has great size at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds. He's a true road-grader in the trenches as he's able to move just about anyone off the line of scrimmage.
O-H…Beyond blessed and extremely excited to receive an offer from THE Ohio State University!! pic.twitter.com/kMp5ZstDg5

Right now, it doesn't look as if Scruggs has any kind of list or "top" team. He holds 11 total offers as his recruitment is just starting to take off. Michigan State and Penn State are the other most notable offers that Scruggs holds. When it's all said and done, expect Pittsburgh to get involved here, too. The in-state teams will be tough to beat out, but no one is as good as Urban Meyer when it comes to going to to rival states and getting kids.
A brother Buckeye?
According to reports, Urban Meyer will have a serious talk with Marcus Hooker (New Castle, PA / New Castle) about becoming an Ohio State Buckeye. Marcus is the brother of current safety Malik Hooker. Hooker is another class of 2018 prospect and is a top 300 player who is rated as the No. 28 cornerback in his class.

Hooker attends New Castle High School, the same as Malik. Hooker presents elite cornerback size at 6-foot, 180 pounds. Though some say his raw athleticism isn't as high as Malik's, they say his football skills are more polished when comparing both of them at the same age. Still, expect Marcus Hooker to garner more attention on the recruiting trail as his junior season plays out – and expect more Big Ten teams to get involved in this recruitment.
Hooker does not hold an Ohio State offer, but that could change in the coming months. Right below is Marcus’ highlight reel.
Making a house visit
Moving onto the hardwood, Thad Matta is trying to make an inroad with the recruitment of four-star shooting guard Nojel Eastern. The Evanston Township (IL) hoopster is ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois, according to 247sports.
Big time schools are trying to win the services of Eastern; Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State join Ohio State as some of the programs vying to get the class of 2017 star. According to 247sports, Purdue Head Coach Matt Painter has already made his visit with the 6-foot-6 baller.

As you can tell from the tweet, the Buckeyes are slated to make a visit sometime over the weekend or early next week. If Matta was going to make a move in getting a top 100 player in Eastern, now is the time. Currently, a consensus of predictions have the Illinois basketball player taking his talents to East Lansing, Mich. and playing for Tom Izzo’s Spartans.
