I'm trying to identify all night games that the Buckeyes have played in. That's based on having a kickoff after 5:00 pm local time, so the Rose Bowls don't count, even though they usually end after a lovely sunset.

Home night games (I believe these are all 10; Wiki lists Iowa '05, but that's wrong)
09-14-85 Pitt
09-11-93 Washington
08-28-97 Wyoming
09-11-99 UCLA
10-06-01 NWern
08-30-03 Washington
09-10-05 Texas
10-25-08 Penn St
09-12-09 USC
09-02-10 Marshall

Night Bowl games (these are now all of them)
01-01-77 Colo
12-29-78 Clemson
12-30-81 Navy
12-17-82 BYU
12-27-90 Air Force
12-30-93 BYU
01-01-98 Fla St
01-01-99 aTm
01-03-03 Miami
01-02-04 Kans St
12-29-04 Okla St
01-08-07 Fla
01-07-08 LSU
01-05-09 Texas
01-04-11 Ark

Away games under JT
09-03-01 Minn (thanks to isaac416)
10-05-02 NWern
10-11-03 Wisc
10-02-04 NWern
10-08-05 Penn St
09-09-06 Texas
09-30-06 Iowa
09-29-07 Minn
10-06-07 Purdue
10-27-07 Penn St
09-13-08 USC
10-04-08 Wisc
10-03-09 Ind
10-16-10 Wisc
10-30-10 MInn

Away games before 2001
10-02-59 USC
10-04-75 UCLA (Coliseum)
10-01-77 SMU
09-29-84 Minn
08-27-86 Bama
10-18-86 Purdue
09-17-88 Pitt
10-22-88 MInn
09-19-92 Syr
08-29-94 Fresno St (Pigskin Classic in Anaheim)
11-04-95 Minn
09-05-98 WVU
09-09-00 Ariz

NOT night games
01-02-78 Bama
12-28-85 BYU
09-26-87 LSU (no ties in night games, per the official site)
08-27-95 Bost Coll
08-29-99 Miami (Sunday afternoon)
09-24-05 Iowa (Wiki is wrong)
01-02-06 ND (4:30 kickoff in Ariz)

I've updated this list - I think we have all 53 (according to the official site tOSU is 36-17 all-time in night games).

Thanks for your assistance.

1998 @ West Virginia.

1992 @ Syracuse (I think).

1988 @ Pittsburgh

1986 Kickoff Classic against Alabama

I also think there's a mid-90s Minnesota game (1995 or 1997) that was night, but I can't remember which.

So, those are the games I remember actually watching.

I believe the 1987 LSU game was during the day -- 3:30 on CBS as I recall. For some reason, I can see the blocked FG in the shadows of late day sun. Could be wrong.

2001 @ Minnesota was a night game (so, that's the one you're missing in that group).

So, a net zero from me.

Thanks for the info.

The LSU game was a tie, so that should've told me it couldn't be a night game, with tOSU's 36-17 overall record.

Were the Kickoff Classics in 95 (Bost Coll) and 99 (Miami) also at night?

The '94 Pigskin Classic with Fresno State in Anaheim was on a Monday night.

I believe the Classic with BC was at night. I'll try to verify. The Miami Classic was during the day.

Yep - the Miami game in '99 was a Sunday afternoon game.

If the Bama game in '86 was at night, that was the only night loss I'm missing.

I found the other 8 other non-Horsehoe night game wins I was looking for, including these from isaac416:

'98 WVU - confirmed as a night game in Morgantown
'88 Pitt - confirmed
'92 Syr - confirmed
'95 Minn - confirmed

Wasn't the nd fiesta a late afternoon game? Like 5 or 6?

I do remember leaving the stadium and watching WVU-UGA in a bar afterwards, so perhaps the kickoff was before 5 pm in Tempe.

EDIT - yep 4:30 kickoff, I'll remove it, Good catch.

My list should be complet now - thanks to all that helped.

I was going to say the 1975 UCLA game and the Fresno game, but local time, those weren't night games -- only night games, I guess, by EDT.

But I guess I should have figured that out w/ 2008 USC being included. See, that one I'd never think of b/c I was there and it was sunny as heck. Heh.
