Somebody is having a good spring camp.

In case you haven't heard, there's potentially playing time up for grabs at wideout for Ohio State this year, after the departures of Michael Thomas, Jalin Marshall and Braxton Miller. There have been reports that freshman Austin Mack has been making a name for himself in practice, and now, we can see public confirmation. Urban Meyer tweeted today that Mack was the first freshman to get his black stripe removed:

Mack, a four-star wideout from Fort Wayne, IN, chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and a slew of other big name programs. An early-enrollee, Mack saw his recruiting profile improve dramatically over last season, thanks to strong performances in camp and during his senior high school football season.

With plenty of openings on the depth chart, it seems that Mack is making a case for early playing time, even as a freshman. Given his potential, that can only be a good thing.
