2026 four-star target Cincere Johnson will announce his commitment this week following a weekend official visit with the Buckeyes.
Ohio State is entering its final week of its summer recruiting camp schedule. It has been a busy month for the football team and the coaching staff. The Buckeyes have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming season, where Ohio State will try to run it back after a College Football Playoff National Championship run last season.
The coaching staff has also been busy hosting what feels like dozens of recruits every day in the last few weeks. This trend will continue this week, but before we get to that, Ohio State is hoping to earn a huge recruiting win this week as well.
2026 four-star linebacker Cincere Johnson (Cleveland, OH / Glenville) is scheduled to commit later this week on June 19, and he is coming off an official visit with Ohio State that seemed to have gone as well as possible.
Ohio State head coach has made it a priority to keep the best recruits in Ohio in-state, and because of this mantra, the Buckeyes have been recruiting Johnson for a while, offering him in September of 2024. He has found his way down to Columbus on multiple occasions, with the most recent being for his official visit.
The Buckeyes are not alone in his recruitment, as he has a final three of Ohio State, Penn State and Alabama. He has taken official visits with his three finalists, and he also officially visited with Oklahoma. He has an official visit with USC scheduled for June 20, but it is still to be seen if he will go through with it as he is scheduled to commit a day before this.
Johnson is viewed as one of the top linebackers in the 2026 recruiting class. 247Sports has him listed as a defensive edge however, and he is the No. 8 edge prospect in their composite rankings. He is also the No. 71 overall prospect and the No. 2 recruit from Ohio.
