Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
The Ohio State Fair starts this Wednesday, 2 August 2006. Are you planning on going?

Personnaly (if I would be in town which fortunately I won't be) this is something that I would avoid like the plague; however, I know a lot of people like it.

I have to see if my dad can get the day off(Sun Aug. 6). I got football practices starting Aug. 3rd. And I only have Sundays off. Plus I don't want to walk around the fairgorunds after practicing/running for 5-6 hours.

Going on the first day(Wed Aug. 2) is possibly the worst time to go. And going on the last day(Sun Aug. 13) is bad because hardly anything is left to do.

I take my kids, but otherwise, it's no longer "for me" I used to go quite often when I was younger. Poppin ballons with darts for Jack Daniels/pick a band mirrors was kinda my thing for a while.

Funny thing happend to me the last time I was there. I took my daughter and son on the ... what is it called.. the sky ride thing that goes from one end of the fair to the other.... anyway.. it's more a mode of transport than a ride. So.... here I am up there with my kids, and I'm absolutley terrified one of them is going to fall out. It was the worst feeling of dread I've ever had. Couldn't wait to get off that friggin thing.

This year, we'll be on vacation, so I won't have to worry about that again.

I believe you forgot the most appropriate response (at least for me)

5. Not if I don't have too.

The wife wants to take the kids every year, going down there and baking on the hot asphalt wading through rednecks is just not my bag of tea. Besides, as has been stated.... it's boring.

Went last year for the first time in 10 years........As I have always told people no matter how bad or screwed up you think your life is.....go to something like the fair and you will have no problem finding somone worse off than you.
