Buckeyes offer instate tight end

One day after showcasing his talents in front of Ryan Day and the rest of the Ohio State coaching staff at camp on Thursday, Cincinnati Elder class of 2020 tight end Joe Royer, a high school teammate of current OSU verbal pledge Jakob James, now holds an opportunity to suit up on college level in the Scarlet and Gray.

Locking in his scholarship from the Buckeyes on Friday, the 6-foot-5 225-pound three-star prospect adds Ohio State to a offer list that previously consisted of programs such as Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, West Virginia, and many others.

I am extremely excited to have received an offer from The Ohio State University!! Thank you @OSUCoachKDub and @ryandaytime for this opportunity! Go Bucks‼️ pic.twitter.com/pL3nU689p3

More than just a blocker for Elder, Royer has shown big play ability when the football is in his hands. Last season as a junior for the Panthers, he hauled in 32 receptions for over 600 yards and five touchdowns to help pace his squad to an overall record of 8-5.

See what Joe Royer could add to the Buckeyes offense with these highlights of him in action:
