After hearing from the media for months, see what the recruits have to say.

After what was a hard fought football game in 2014, fan bases of Ohio State, and Virginia Tech have been counting down the minutes until they have the chance to see the Buckeyes and Hokies take the field again. The wait is finally over.

With Monday evening's game creeping upon us, there has been plenty of talk surrounding the match up over the last year. After having the chance to hear what media members have had to say, you might be interested to see what some of the commits and top prospects are looking forward to seeing during the game this year.

Land-Grant Holy Land caught up with the following recruits and had them break down their thoughts on the battle between OSU and Virginia Tech:

Commits

2017 OSU pledge Jerron Cage

Thoughts: "I feel like last year at that game nobody knew their roles, and this year they (OSU) know what each other can do. They have better chemistry than they did last year, especially coming off a national championship year."

Prediction: 100% Ohio State

2016 VT pledge Patrick Kearns

Thoughts: "I'm excited to see what VT has got this year. They had a lot of injuries last year and it will be interesting to see how they stack up against the national champs. I think it's a close game and VT pulls it out in the end. Lane Stadium will be a difference maker."

Prediction: Virginia Tech, 28-24

2017 OSU pledge Todd Sibley

Thoughts: "I can't wait for the game. I'm mostly excited to see 'Zeke [Elliott] and the run game. Also, I want to see Braxton Miller do some amazing things at wide receiver and Parris Campbell make a name for himself."

Prediction: Ohio State, 49-0

2016 VT pledge Jovonn Quillen

Thoughts: "I'm ready to see the VT fans go crazy in the stadium. I know the Hokies will come out playing hard."

Prediction: Virginia Tech, 24-21

Prospects

2017 DB William Poole III

Thoughts: "I'm excited to see both sides defensive schemes to try and see myself playing there. I'm familiar a lot with Virginia Tech, but OSU has just recently offered so it's time for me to get to studying. I want to give every school a chance. I'm also excited to see what both teams have to prove from the hard work they've put in all spring and summer long. I know this game will be one for the books, due to the fact that last year VT beat OSU, and OSU ended as national champions."

Prediction: Virginia Tech, 31-28

2017 LB Santino Marchiol

Thoughts: "I believe that Ohio State will come out on top and prove to everyone that they have another great national championship caliber team. I'm excited to see the game."

Prediction: Ohio State, 42-10

2017 RB Kyshaun Bryan

Thoughts: "I'm not sure what VT has this year but they are good every year so their going to come out fighting. Ohio State just turned into a powerhouse with the people they have, so I think it will be a very good game."

Prediction: "No score prediction. Not real sure about that, but I'm looking forward to it being a good game."

2017 OL Marcus Minor

Thoughts: "I look forward to seeing the environment and energy of the fan bases. You know as a player that always gets you hype."

Prediction: Virginia Tech, 28-21

2017 DB Jaylen Kelly-Powell

Thoughts: "Either quarterback that plays will be a veteran for OSU. Last year was JT's first start. OSU remembers the only blemish last year. My big bros play for OSU. Cass Tech made."

Prediction: Ohio State, 35-14

2017 DB Brendon White

Thoughts: "I believe the Buckeyes will win big time. My reason being is they lost to them last year at home and I feel they want to make a statement to not only Virginia Tech but also the country and show they're in the race and determined to win another playoff championship."

Prediction: Ohio State, 42-7

2017 ATH Tyrell Ajian

Thoughts: "I'm excited to see how Braxton Miller plays at the H, and just to watch Ohio State in general."

Prediction: Ohio State, 49-21

2018 RB Jaelen Gill

Thoughts: "I think Ohio State wins because the offensive line is just as strong as last year and they have lots of returning defensive players. I feel like they will be just as strong as they were when they the season even without some key players. Although, it will be a tough first game for them."

Prediction: Ohio State, 38-24
