Their report will be delivered later in the week.
While it might not be as quickly as most Buckeye fans would like, we now have a somewhat solid timeline for the conclusion of the investigation into Urban Meyer’s handling of domestic violence accusations against former assistant coach Zach Smith.
In a statement released on Friday afternoon, Ohio State president Michael Drake said that the investigation will officially conclude on Sunday, and that the independent working group tasked with looking into the events will then complete a report to deliver to the Board of Trustees at some point next week.
However, even after that happens, OSU does not guarantee a speedy result. The statement says, “Following deliberations with the board, and appropriate time for consideration, President Michael V. Drake will announce his decision.”
More information will be made available next week, especially since the university is required to provide public notice 24 hours before a meeting is of the Board of Trustees.
The Ohio State football team opens its season on Sept. 1 against Oregon State.
