The announcement marks KBD’s third POW this season.

For the second week in a row, Ohio State redshirt junior Keita Bates-Diop was named the Big Ten Player of the Week. In games against Maryland and Rutgers, the Buckeye star averaged 23 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks in wins that helped propel OSU to their first AP Poll appearance in nearly three years.

In the win against Maryland, KBD went for 26 points and eight rebounds, while against Rutgers, he finished one board shy of a 20-10 double-double. In the past seven days, he went 18-of-34 (52.9%) from the field, including 8-of-15 (53.3%) from behind the three-point arc.

This is his third Big Ten Player of the Week honor of the season for Bates-Diop. He was also honored on Dec. 11, 2017.

Michigan State’s Jaren Jackson Jr. was named the conference’s Freshman of the Week while averaging 17.5 points, four rebounds, and four blocks against Rutgers and Michigan. This is Jackson’s third FOW honor of the season.

The Buckeyes will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Rosemont, Ill. to visit the Northwestern Wildcats. The game will air on the Big Ten Network, and will tip off at 9 p.m. ET.

Congrats to KBD on yet another honor, richly deserved.
