Ohio Stadium aka THE Horseshoe (Official Thread)

CrabMan

Ohio Stadium is as much a part of the tradition at The Ohio State University as Woody, TBDBITL, Archie, Eddie and JT, and IMHO deserves its own thread.

Plus, this will be a good place to talk about future renovations, the scoreboard, etc.

We have a thread for field conditions. Let's leave that discussion over there. If there are any topics relating to the stadium itself, this thread can accommodate them.

From what I understand it's not really a dirt issue but a result of age. The new concrete from the renovation makes the 90 year old concrete from the original structure look dirty. Kind of like putting new shoe strings in old tennis shoes. You don't realize how bad the shoes look until you put in the new strings. This contrast will most likely be apparent for many years.

I agree

Concrete that is 80+ years old is not going to look brand new. Face it. I think its actually in good shape after being in the Columbus weather for 80+ years.

They could fix that by painting the whole thing, but that would be a great cost with little real functional benefit. I don't see anything wrong with leaving it just age until it matches, there are better more beneficial things to spen that $$ on.

Ohio Stadium (Official Thread)

So, all you buckeye faithful, where's your favorite place in the stadium to sit?

Just trying to get an idea, I'm buying tickets for a couple of upcoming games and just thought I'd get input from the experts!

I always dreamed of getting tickets near the front of C-deck on the 50-yard-line, West Side. Then, my brother and I got our tickets together in exactly that spot for the Iowa Crushing in 2005.
