Northwestern College-Double Header?

i kinda heard the story on gameday, aparently they had conflicts with the schedule and that was the only time they could play the game, but it seems to amaze me why they couldn't play it during the middle of the week?


also they almost scored more points in one day then ohio state has all year

I cover Division III for a living, and I am in no way bashing the great feat that Northwestern pulled off, but they scheduled it this way to face two of the lesser programs at that level. Trinity Bible has won one game over the last 5-6 years, and routinely gets beat by 50, 60, 70, even 100 once (105-0 two years ago). Macalester has also won just once over the last two seasons.

It is still awesome to pull it off though. I think the toughest part would definitely be the tightening up between games just to have to loosen up again to play later on. Congrats to them on the big day though!

Trinity had 9 wins since the 2000 season as does Macalester. You pretty much stole what I was going to say, though. Neither of these teams are very good and Northwestern new that coming in. They've combined for 1 win this year.

59-0. TBC must be really bad. I'm assuming that NW College got a comfortable lead and then took out their starters to rest for the later game. 2 games in one day. It's bad enough when a defense is on the field for 40 minutes in one game, but in 2 games, they may be on the field 60+ minutes.
