Women's basketball: Buckeyes finally get their moment
Ohio State wants to run, but not at Carolina's pace

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The game fairly jumped off the Ohio State women's basketball schedule the moment it was announced in the spring. North Carolina was coming to Value City Arena on Dec. 3 as part of the annual Big Ten-Atlantic Coast Conference Challenge. This was the North Carolina, the Tar Heels with the distinctive blue uniforms and the reputation for running like no other team in women's college basketball. They were coming to play the Buckeyes in Columbus for the first time in more than a quarter of a century.
May turned to December and the collision finally will occur tonight between the No. 2 Tar Heels (8-0) and the 18th-ranked Buckeyes (6-1) in front of probably the largest crowd of the season.
The media gathered yesterday to gauge the excitement in the OSU camp. Coach Jim Foster and the assembled players offered only the slightest hint of what was on their minds. Picture a few wily trout teasing a bunch of novice nabobs with new fishing poles and no idea how to attract a bite. The first cast went toward the coach.
"They're talented," Foster said. "We're talented. It's a basketball game. And who does what they do better on that particular day determines who wins those games. We do some things pretty well. We have to try to do them well more often than not. They do some things pretty well and we've got to defend that more often than not."
Another questioner dropped a line near senior forward Star Allen.

Prahalis is a one girl fast break...She can break the press all by herself, and anyone questioning whether this team is going to play uptempo should have all those questions answered...

Lets just hope that we can keep up the tempo and try and take better care of the ball...

Losing Star Allen to foul trouble has hurt us a little in this game, and I think this game is a little too much up tempo for us, when we have Schulze and Walker in the game...But the big girl from UNC is killing us so we have to go with two bigs and Allen not being in there is hurting us...

A very good first half tho...Only down 4 as UNC got the lucky break on the basket before hte half...Need to come out with some high intensity early in the second half...

Sammy Prahlis is a very special player!!!!

we have either too many people named Bredalin in the game or not quite as much depth as NC.
But I can see us winning this game with enough effort.
