NFL "going pink" this weekend

sharkonwheels

Auburn STILL fugging sucks! WAR CHICKEN!
Ya know, I think it's great - supporting the Komen Foundation is awesome...

But...

With the SHEER amount of $$$ spent on making:
Pink shoes
Pink towels
Pink sweatbands
Pink chinstraps
Pink whistles

...

Wouldn't it have been a MUCH better idea to like give the foundation some much needed $$, and maybe pinkify the broadcasts? Say, pink border, or whatever?

I think the thought was great, but the execution was kinda' dumb.

Mayeb I'm being overly critical, but I think the foundation needs $$ more than it needs pink football gear.

The players should autograph all the stuff and then the NFL could auction it off and make even more money... kinda like OSU did with the Stefanie Speilman breast cancer awareness jerseys from Spring Game.

That would be an awesome turnaround.

I thought they were auctioning it off ????

ABOUT THE NFL'S COMMITMENT
The NFL, its clubs and players are proud to support the fight against breast cancer. Our campaign, "A Crucial Catch", in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is focused on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are over the age of 40. Throughout October, NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel to raise awareness for the campaign, as well as on-field pink ribbon stencils and special K-balls and pink coins. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches and special K-balls and pink coins will auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFLAuction.NFL.com), with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities. This is an issue that has directly touched the lives of so many in the NFL family, and we are committed to helping make a difference in breast-cancer prevention.

I think its for a great cause but fucking ugly. and slightly annoying.

What a huge disappointment. I read something about the NFL "going pink" and nowhere is Ines Sainz mentioned.

That's pretty much the only "going pink" I'm interested in when it comes to the NFL. And I thought her refusal to interview players in the nude (as opposed to interviewing nude players) had pretty much put the kibosh on pink Saenz, as it were.

My friends and I mentioned this same thing when watching the games yesterday, about how much money went into supplying these special shoes/gloves/gear (that every player will likely get new ones the following week for the month of October). It's cool that they are auctioning them off though, so hopefully it gets some decent cash into the foundation.

I don't think it's been implemented that badly at all. I've never worn pink. Ever. Just never got into that fad, but those shoes and gloves are pretty slick, everything else is pretty average, but not overdone at all.
