LAKE FOREST, Ill. ? Lovie Smith speaks softly, in baritone and monotone, like the keynote speaker at a tax seminar. Chicago Bears players can?t remember the last time their coach even raised his voice. The lone example comes courtesy of Ruben Brown.

Urlacher needs to be a monster for Bears

BARRY WILNER

Associated Press

CHICAGO - He is the poster boy for the mean, stingy and overpowering Chicago defense. The only problem is Brian Urlacher and his fellow Bears haven't been all that mean, stingy or overpowering lately.
To get the franchise to its first Super Bowl in 21 years, Urlacher and his teammates will need to slow the league's top-ranked offense that New Orleans brings to Sunday's NFC championship game.

There are many facets to Bears? Grossman

THE PALM BEACH POST

LAKE FOREST, Ill. ? Rex Grossman came within a whisker of winning the Heisman Trophy that went to Eric Crouch in 2001. Those truly were the days of Sexy Rexy, the guy whose carefree style matched Steve Spurrier?s flash-fire offense at the University of Florida.

The bad weather provides and advantage for ...

the Saints.

They employ a short passing game. YAC is their bread and butter, plus they have good running to back it up on the ground.

The Bears meanwhile depend upon stretching the field, this could be more difficult for Grossman to accomplish with a hard ball in low temperatures. Unless their ground game gets going, or they obtain a game-breaker from Hester, that line could be turned upside down, and then some.

100 on the Bears, I'd bet more but I don't have it. I don't think the boys from indoors in New Orleans will take kindly to Chicago in the late afternoon. Also, the turf up there last week was terrible, may well be worse today. Trench game, grind it out, time for the Norris division to shine...

Chicago did just get away with one there....you can't call Time outs on 2 consecutive plays....

And then Grossman missed a completely wide open guy for a TD....

Cedric Benson to the one....3rd and goal

EDIT: The NFL now says there is no penalty for calling consecutive TOs....
