The team wearing dark jerseys beat the team wearing white jersys who happened to have a tiger for a mascot and a big advantage in fans at the game.

College football notebook: Florida Atlantic wins in New Orleans

Rusty Smith threw for 336 yards and a New Orleans Bowl-record five touchdowns to lead Florida Atlantic to a 44-27 victory over Memphis last night.
Howard Schnellenberger guided Florida Atlantic to victory in its first bowl game, in just the program's seventh season.
Schnellenberger, who led Miami to the 1983 national championship, is 5-0 in bowl games in his 23 seasons as a head coach.
Smith had 102 yards passing and two touchdowns in the first 10 minutes. His second, a short pass that Dilvory Edgecomb turned into a 29-yard score, gave Florida Atlantic a 17-7 lead.
