Most Break-Ups With One Girl/Guy?

A ridiculous but funny concept I thought. I have a friend who has broken up with his g/f and gotten back together with her about 20 times. Makes me laugh everytime I hear about them, so I thought I'd start this and see if anyone can top that.

My personal high: 4...which was ridiculous.

Always been stubborn as hell on this, if she broke up with me or if I broke up I never got back together. My philosphy as flawed as it might be was there was something at some point not good enough for either one of us so cut the cord and move on!

5, with a girlfriend in HS, unfortunately it took all 5 until she finally realized that I was breaking up with her. She had this habit of just ignoring the words, "I don't want to go out with you anymore". Then showing up wherever within a day or two. Never could understand why someone would want to put themselves through that kind of humiliation.

I had a booty call thing going with a chick for a couple years, but we were never together in my mind. I'm sure she would have a number to go in this thread. I was just in it for the nookie. She thought I had a fear of commitment when I actually had no desire to be in a relationship with her.

does it count if i tried to break up with her but failed repeatedly (think seinfeld where the girl just wont take no for an answer and eventually come to a compramise of some sort where we arent broken up anymore.. cuz if those count.. i had one that over a 6 year time frame i broke up with 6 times and she broke up with me once... she since went into therapy for depression.

Only once did I get back together with someone and it was a huge mistake. "Buh bye" happens for a reason -- ya simply aren't meant to be.

One, and it would surprise me if there were ever occasion to have multiple break-ups with the same person. I'm too selective (okay, picky) about who gets past the first two or three dates. Those few might be intense, but they tend to think through decisions as carefully as I do. I guess I've been lucky in that even the most painful of breakups were about recognizing it wasn't a long-term match and not about suddenly not respecting or liking each other.
