Go Buckeyes!

  • The Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor (that whore) to take on the Wolverines in a critical series starting Friday. Michigan is currently ranked #23 (the highest Big 10 team) and is 30-10 (17-3 Big 10) good enough for first place. The Buckeyes need to make a good showing with only Iowa and Illinois remaining on the schedule.

    Bucks/scUM split doubleheader 1-3 6-2

Ann Arbor, Mich. ? Dean Wolosiansky pitched 6.1 innings of four-hit ball and Cory Kovanda scored a seventh-inning, go-ahead run to spark Ohio State to a 3-2 win over Michigan in the second game of a doubleheader at Ray Fisher Stadium. Michigan won the opener, 6-1.
Wolosiansky, a red-shirt freshman, did not let the fact that Ohio State was down 2-0 in the series and had lost 11 consecutive regular season games to the Wolverines affect his effort. He shut out the Wolverines for four innings and never let the home team get comfortable at the plate. He walked three and struck out three in improving his record to 7-2. Michael Powers, the third Michigan pitcher, dropped to 5-4 with the loss.

The Buckeyes lose to scUM 15-1 (:smash:) to lose the series (3 games to 1), dropping to below .500 in the Big 10 and probably losing any hope of post-season save for a tournament championship. Pathetic showing by the Bucks.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ohio State dropped the fourth and final game in this series to Michigan Sunday, 15-1, as the Wolverines scored seven runs in the second inning to put the game away early. Michigan wins the series, 3-1. Ohio State is now 24-21 overall and 11-12 in the Big Ten Conference.
Coming into Sunday, the Buckeyes were optimistic that they could pull a tie out of this series after dropping the first two games. A terrific effort by Dean Wolosiansky in the Buckeyes? 3-2 win Saturday was huge and J.B. Shuck was taking the mound Sunday.
Things started out well. Shuck mowed down the Wolverines in the first inning, striking out all three batters.
