Never Forget 31-0
How in the world does this guy get a new deal when in reality he has not been able to win anything with HIS recruits?Miami coach Larry Coker has agreed to a new five-year contract that will take him through the 2009 season, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.
Coker had three years remaining on his previous deal but will receive an immediate increase in pay that puts him among the highest-paid coaches in the ACC, according to the source.
Coker is 44-6 in four seasons at Miami, leading the Hurricanes to a national championship in 2001 and the national championship game in 2002. Coker's winning percentage of .880 is fifth-best among coaches in their first 50 games. The Hurricanes open their season at Florida State on Sept. 5.
