  • The Marshall Thundering Herd visits Bill Davis stadium for a mid-week, non-conference game against the Buckeyes. The Bucks enter the game at 24-21 (11-12 Big 10). Marshall is 24-24-1, but has won 10 of its last 15 games.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Thundering Herd baseball team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to square off against Ohio State, Wednesday, May 7. Game-time is set for 6:35 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium.
    Marshall enters the contest with an overall record of 24-24-1 and has won 10 of its last 15 games, while Ohio State stands at 24-21 on the season.
    The Herd is coming off a 1-2 performance against No. 28 Southern Miss this past weekend. Steve Blevins (7-2) picked up the win in game one against the Golden Eagles. The junior's seventh win marks the first time a Marshall pitcher has posted seven wins in a single season since Sean Reeder did so during the 2000 season.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio – On a hazy, somewhat gloomy Wednesday night at Bill Davis Stadium, Ohio State defeated Marshall, 8-1, in a rain-shortened, five-inning game.
    After a 22-minute rain delay in between the top and bottom of the second inning, Ohio State jumped on Thundering Herd starter Ian Kadish for four runs off five hits. The Buckeyes hit three doubles in the inning – by Ryan Dew, Brian DeLucia and Tyler Engle – and Tony Kennedy had a two-run single.
    Marshall’s Ben Jurevicius sped around the base paths for a one-out triple in the third. He scored on a sacrifice fly to trim the lead to 4-1.
