What should we expect this year from Madden? Last year the xbox version was good. When 360 came out, the graphics were good but the game itself was not up to speed. Hopefully for the 360 owners, those things can be worked out for this version.

I don't play a whole lot of Madden, but I do get the game every year.
 
I havn't heard much about the 360 game but the normal XBox version is adding a new feature. It is like superstar mode but you only play as that character. So say you make a WR, that means you will only play as a WR and you will not control the QB or RB or anyone else. I foget what the mode is called, but it sounds pretty cool...and as far as i know, that is not on the 360 version.

I love NCAA football, but the gameplay was nowhere near as good as Madden (on regular xbox), especially against other users.

After ESPN 2k5 (football), Madden heard footsteps and bought the sole rights to NFL video games. I think the next-gen models look a bit like the espn models.

If they are in the business of ripping off espn, I'd like to see first-person mode. It's not something you play all of the time, but I found it enjoyable, especially on defense. You could switch players, but your view was the selected player, inside of the helmet. Kickoffs were pretty intense as you ran knowing you were about to be blindsided.

If they implemented this, it could be an interesting spinoff for the superstar mode.

Just say the box for the game this weekend. Madden for 360 does include Franchise and Superstar mode as well as the new mode i talked about earlier. The regular XBox game include Franchise and Superstar mode as well, but not the new mode.

I have heard that Madden 07 is targeting the running game much like 2006 did the QB play. Supposedly there is a feature now where you can take control of the lead blocker and plow a hole open for your back and then take control of the guy with the ball...or something like that. Personally, it didn't sound like it would be all that great an improvement (I'd settle for my linemen being able to run block once in a while), but time will tell.

Lead Blocker Control: The ability to take control of any player on the field and block the defense, which is going to dramatically improve running game
NFL superstar, hall of fame mode: Self-explanatory, you finally get the ultimate reward for doing good in superstar mode.
Improved Defensive AI: you remember those slants that are almost impossible to stop in man, well madden claims they have fixed that
Improved defensive line: I guess they won't be falling for that play action on 3rd and 20...it's about time
Improved offensive line: Realistic blocking to make the running game fun. You actually have to read to get about 3 to 7 yards.
Highlight stick: Have you ever seen warrick Dunn run over anybody in real life? So why would he try it in a game? So this no longer a problem, Warrick dunn will actually Juke ray lewis instead of running him over.
All new franchise mode: More in depth scouting for your franchise

Yeah.

Same exact thing as last year except there is a pretty sweet new blocking mode, where you can be the fullback while the computer is the running back. So you can go out and pancake the fuck out of someone then hold B and be the running back and run through the hole you created.

Oh BTW Vince Young is unstoppable. :biggrin:
