COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State and Louisville resumed their non-conference series for a third consecutive year on an incredibly lovely, buck-a-burger Tuesday night at Bill Stadium. Louisville, ranked as high as seventh nationally (Rivals.com), scored four runs in the second inning and got a solid start out of red-shirt freshman Justin Amlung to down the Buckeyes, 6-0, before a season's-best crowd of 2,033 fans. The win was Louisville's fourth over Ohio State in the last three years. It improved the Cardinals record to 37-7 this year and it also improved its record to 19-2 against the Big Ten under fourth-year coach Dan McDonnell. Ohio State falls to 24-16 with the loss.
After a scoreless first inning - the Buckeyes had two runners on with one out in their half but hit into an inning-ending double play - Louisville scored four runs in the second off three hits and one Buckeye error.
