This is just a heads up in regards to a 34" HDTV-capable digital widescreen tv...

HHGregg is having a one day sale Wednesday, April 20th... They have the above listed tv for basically half off (I think it retails for $1,000 or $1,200... it is on sale for $597)... so, if anybody is looking for a nice tube HDTV-capable digital widescreen here's your shot.

I don't have anything to do with HHGregg... this is just a heads up on a good deal. For those without that kind of cash sitting around they do offer 18 months zero percent on that specific TV... so $33.34 a month for 18 months will pay for it (plus tax)...

I will never purchase another HH Gregg product ever again. I ordered a stainless steel refrigerator from them last summer when I moved into my new house. The first two were severely dented, the third one was the wrong size, the 4th one was an all-black refrigerator and finally on the 5th try they got it right.

We were 4 weeks without a refrigerator.

Fuck HH Gregg, I hope they rot in hell along with Hitler!!!:mad1: :mad1: :mad1: :mad1:   :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Agree 100% with Thump...I'll never buy anything from those slackers again. I bought a TV and washer and dryer from them, and none of the three worked. HHGreg came out to "exchange them", only they sent some doofus in a van that wasn't nearly large to take it all away, and didn't bring new ones with them. I finally loaded them up myself and dropped them off in their parking lot, and after about an hour argument managed to get my money back. So then I stuck signs on the TV, washer, and dryer advising that they were only $50 each....hopefully that pissed somebody off.

Agree with above. Don't shop at hhgregg.

If you want a deal on a high-def TV, wait until Sears and Best Buy have their TVs on sale, then get them to price match each other. Best Buy will usually have the lowest price through their online store. Go to Sears, tell them you saw the TV at price $xxx at Best Buy, and Sears will match it and take off another 10% of the difference between the two. Sears will then give you a brochure with the quoted price and the salesman's signature (so they know who the commission goes to).

Take the brochure over to Best Buy and ask for the manager. The manager will *should* match the Sears price, then take another 10% off of that.

VG,

Here's the deal. It's labeled as a Dish Network TV. It's actually a JVC or RCA... I frankly forget which one. Dish Network purchased a bunch of these from JVC/RCA to use as in a promotion. It didn't work very well, so they sold the remaining units below cost to HH Gregg. Keep in mind there were two different TV's in this promotion. A 36" Projection TV (not good, the ratings on it stunk as well), and a 34" Tube TV (both are HDTV-Capable).

I did a lot of research on these two TV's and found the 34" Tube to be a good deal... the projection version frankly stunk. STay away from that.

Sometimes it was listed at $1,200... other times they listed it at $1,000... bottom line is it will be $597.00 on 4/20/05 and only that day.

I own one and have enjoyed it. It works great, has a ton of features (we're still learning how to use them all), great picture quality, etc. I would recommend it to anybody (friends/family are impressed as well... at the price some thought something bad would happen, not the case... keep in mind Sony's equivalent is about $1,400)...

The only problem I have with it is it's weight. It weighs about 185 pounds. It is a big TV (both weight and depth)... but then again it is a 34" Tube...

I'm sure the 36" projection will also be on sale... stay away from it... it really doesn't have a good picture. And you have to be right in front of it or you cannot see anything... again stay away from the projection version. The sales folks will try to steer you to it because you can get another 2" for about the same price... don't do it!!!

It used to be on HHGregg's home page. It isn't there anymore... Here's a link that has the TV from a different site: http://reviews.cnet.com/4505-6487_7-30898386-2.html

Good deal if you are looking for a "cheap" tube HDTV...
