Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

LeBron should be the one being roasted

the charity [censored] was BS to get himself out of being roasted, anyone who thinks he did the "The Decision" show [censored] just for charity is a [censored]ing moron

he is a self absorbed attention whore, like NFBuck said, the NBA is on par with pro wrestling currently...all style no substance...and LeBron is at the bottom of the "substance" category, all about himself....no heart....no grit

just saying be ready for it....just as they were trashing Cleveland fans for burning a jersey....the ESPN machine will be all over this and they will make the case it's more justification for James cutting out of town

I wanted to share a small anecdote with you guys. A couple of my coworkers are in their early sixties. They were born and raised in Oregon, but they cherish people who, even in their glory, will present a face that seems palatable and supportable. Both of them watched the 60 minutes episode of Lebron a while back. What they saw in that show left them with such a positive impression that they were more or less avid fans. And neither watches a tremendous amount of NBA.
Today, without my initiation, they both shared separately that if he goes somewhere else besides Cleveland; then they're done with him and consider the face he wore for the longest time is all a facade.

This comes from two older Oregonians who don't even have a dog in the hunt.

As for me, I've always loved Cleveland even though I wasn't primarily a Cavs fan. Lakers are my team. But I have to admit that I hurt for Cleveland and the fans of the Cavaliers. I hurt like I did when Modell betrayed the Browns that I've recovered from.

Sorry all, this isn't how it should have gone down.

I have a few insightful details as to why Dan Gilbert is at a level 11 on the "pissed off" meter. Many people remember the Tahj Boyd recruiting fiasco? Same deal. As recently as noon today, Lebron told the front office he was returning. His camp is who started the Johnny Flynn to the Cavs rumor.

Of all of the madness in this thread right now...this grabbed me most. I agree 100%, which is why I'm annoyed & disappointed. I had him pegged differently. The NBA is depressing.

yep

he was pretty smart to pull the "all ad revenue to charity" stuff

if he didnt do that the whole country would be seeing him now like we do.... a self absorbed asshole who will do anything he can to bring as much attention to himself as possible

It is not the fact that he left...It is the way he left, and the fact that he put on a face for all of Cleveland to believe he was someone that he was not.

Example?

All the community effort and donating time and money to local causes in Akron/Cleveland made him seem like something of a good person. Yes, the way LBJ did this tonight was wrong, but it would still get the same reaction as if the AP just released a statement from Lebron stating that he was leaving.

I said back during the 06 payoffs to trade him because he didn't have it.....i said it earlier in this thread or another....

Gilbert does seem bitter but I don't care let'em have it out in the newspaper it where ever it'll be fun to read

It's too bad tibor flamed out, now all we're left with is poor impressions to try to stir up everyone.

:slappy: I actually gave into tibor's trolling after the Indians choked the ALCS against the Red Sox

Tron is not even good enough at it to be called a "poor mans" Tibor

If this is 100% true (and not doubting you...just sayin'), I hope it spreads like wildfire.
