I was at a Bru's 2 years ago when I was in Boca for a doctorb meeting. Very nice bar. Better than the shit in the Burgh. Too bad the place was still packed with Stiller fans as the Fins weren't playing at the time. :smash:

Dad's love for OSU on back burner this week
Thursday, September 17, 2009
By Bob Baptist
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

When his team won at Michigan last season, Beau Brudzinski kept a family tradition intact.

"My dad said he never lost at the Big House, either," said Brudzinski, whose father, Bob, was an All-America defensive end at Ohio State in 1976. "He thought that was pretty cool."

Wonder how Bob Brudzinski would feel if his son won his only game in Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday?

Beau Brudzinski is a senior linebacker for Toledo, which plays Ohio State in a home game the Rockets moved to Cleveland to accommodate a crowd larger than its stadium can handle.

Bob Brudzinski, who will make the trip north from his home in Florida to see the game, thinks his alma mater will win but said Beau's involvement makes it obligatory that he pull for the Rockets.

"Ohio State was very, very good to me and all that stuff," Bob said. "But I've certainly got to root for Toledo. Only because of him."

Bob Brudzinski was a defensive fixture on the Buckeyes' great teams of the mid-1970s. He played 13 years in the NFL, most notably as a member of the Miami Dolphins' "Killer B's" defense, which included Brudzinski, Bob Baumhower, Doug Betters, Kim Bokamper and brothers Lyle and Glenn Blackwood.

He remained in southern Florida after he retired in 1989 and owns a chain of seven sports restaurants, Bru's Room, in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

TOLEDO -- Bob Brudzinski, a Fremont Ross graduate, was an All-American at Ohio State.

But on Saturday, he'll be pulling for the University of Toledo when the Rockets play the Buckeyes at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

"He's on Toledo's side this week, hopefully," said Bob's son Beau, a linebacker for the Rockets. "He better be."

He is, and he's not conflicted about it. After all, this is beyond loyalty, it's family.

"Ohio State was good to me," Bob Brudzinski said. "I got a great education and met some great people, but I'm rooting for Toledo.

"Blood's thicker than water."

Bob Brudzinski was an all-Buckeye Conference player for the Little Giants, and was named the district lineman of the year by the Associated Press and United Press International. He was an All-Ohio selection by each wire service, too.

He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams but played the bulk of his career for the Miami Dolphins. After his career ended, Brudzinski stayed in the Miami area and opened Bru's Room Sports Grill, a sports bar and restaurant that has seven locations in South Florida.

7. BOB BRUDZINSKI, 1976
Playing for Woody Hayes, Brudzinski was a three-year starter on Ohio State's defensive line. The senior recorded over 120 tackles in 1976 and possess the second-highest tackles per game average among defensive linemen in program history. Additionally, his four interceptions are tied for the most in Buckeye defensive line history.

Brudzinski was a consensus All-American in his senior year and was named to Ohio State's All-Century team in 2000.

Bob Brudzinski (DE), Nick Bounamici (DT) who is #18 on the list, and Kelton Dansler (DE) who is #8 on the list for 1977 along with Aaron Brown (NT) and Eddie Beamon (DT) made up a pretty good DL in 1976.
